Running a business can be hard work. There always seems so much to do and so little time to focus on building a strategy to multiply your results.
Your To Do list gets longer every day and if you don’t complete your list you often don’t feel that real sense of accomplishment.
You are juggling multiple roles; things happen during the day that takes your focus away from your priorities, often causing you to work longer to catch up creating a sense of constantly working behind the 8-ball.
How would you feel if you could take a step back and simplify things so you are focused and spend your time on a smaller number of things each day?
Because, if you don’t find a better approach tomorrow will be the same, and the next day, next week and so on.
Focus on 3 wins every day
How about focusing your time on achieving just THREE crucial results every day?
If you believe that would really benefit your business and life, let’s step back and look at what achieving those 3 big results every day could actually mean for your business. Let’s run the numbers over a month and a year.
For simplicity, let’s assume you work 20 days every month. You achieve three crucial results every day. That’s 60 high value activities you could achieve every month by just focusing on the three most important things.
Let’s extrapolate that across say ten months (to account for holiday and time away from your business).
You would be aiming to achieve 600 crucial results across those ten months. If you could achieve that, it would be a successful year, wouldn’t it?
Let’s get started
So, let’s try this: Start each day (or set up the night before where you can) with the mindset and intention of getting three important things or projects completed that day.
If a fourth gets added, great, but if its more than that, put it on your list for the next day. When you restrict yourself to achieving three big things each day your mind gets a laser like focus and you ask yourself “What are the most important things I have to work on?”
If there are other projects or tasks that really should be on that daily list, it might be time to ask yourself if you have the ability or financial resources to delegate or outsource.
These three core results you want to achieve each day should be linked to your goals so you feel you are constantly moving forward, building your confidence and belief.
Create a habit
Try this process for 14 days and see what kind of results you can achieve. It will become a habit and should begin to happen each day, naturally.
The key is to set this up first thing in the morning or the previous night because if you put the list off until later, chances are that you’ll get really busy or run out of time.
This might seem like a small thing to implement but sometimes small steps create the biggest breakthroughs. I highly recommend you give it a go.
