It’s difficult to motivate yourself if you’re not doing the right things. If you don’t have focus on what matters most.
To keep yourself in a focused, energised state it’s super important not to feel scattered, overwhelmed, distracted or spread too thin.
To do that, don’t spend your time racing around thinking you’ve got too much to do. The truth is, you haven’t. You don’t have too much to do.
The real truth is that there is actually only one thing to do. The one thing you chose to do right now.
If you chose to focus on that one thing and invest your time on that one thing it will be done to the best of your ability.
Why? Because you have chosen to invest your time and energy on that one thing.
Think about your last week. Did you spend your time moving from one task or project to another? Did you work on lots of things?
How many of the projects did you actually complete? I focus on one project at a time and work on it until completed.
Doing more than one thing at a time, and having lots of other things in your mind, produces fear and anxiety. You also can’t be fully present with colleagues, customers and your loved ones.
Your mind can only really handle one thought at a time. If you’re feeling overwhelmed right now, it’s probably because you have a number of different thoughts racing through your mind.
It’s isn’t that you don’t have enough time. It’s that you are not focused on the one thing.
When your mind carries many thoughts, tasks, future scenarios, worries then it can create stress and freeze your ability to think logically.
If you set up your day to only focus on a small number of projects or tasks and then prioritise and focus on the one thing first you will become more present and focused.
To feel motivated, energised and inspired you need to feel calm and focused. So, focus on the one thing and give it your full attention.
I help successful entrepreneurs maximise their time so they can get more of the important things done, whilst expanding their freedom and making real progress on their goals.
