True strength of mind comes from existing capabilities, focus, awareness and resiliency to the changes we all face in life and business. Most successful people have one trait in common: they are strong-minded. Someone with a strong mind believes in abundance thinking and believes they have the mindset, mental strength and attitude to achieve their biggest goals.
What is a strong mind?
I define a strong mind as someone who is mentally strong and has an inner belief and the capabilities to overcome any challenges they face. Someone with a strong mind has inner self-confidence and a growth mindset. They have a clear purpose and set of goals that are important to them and stay strong minded in pursuit of those aspirations and dreams.
People with a strong mind are focused on growing in every aspect of their business and life. If you want to learn how to be strong minded, the tips in this article will help you become mentally stronger.
Characteristics of a strong mind
Mentally strong people build powerful mindsets. If you want to learn how to be strong-minded, here are 3 characteristics of having a strong mind.
1. Things don’t have to be perfect
Strong-minded people know that thing’s don’t have to be perfect. Perfectionism can be paralysing. It can also let procrastination creep in.
A lot of perfectionism starts from one of two places: 1. Self-doubt; 2. Unreachable ideals.
Both mindsets can create complete inaction. The thing is, there’s no such thing as perfection. It’s just something you’ve created in your own mind.
Strong-minded people take action
People who are strong-minded know it’s far more important to be in action. To have completed something rather than have their perfect project or idea never see the light of day because it wasn’t ‘perfect’.
Things might not be exactly as you planned or look the way you envisioned, but the simple step of getting started and doing something is what matters.
That step, that completed video, that completed marketing campaign, those completed goals are what matters.
People with a strong mind know that progress is more important than perfection.
It starts with commitment and then often a big dose of courage but progress and a step in the right direction is better than perfection any day.
2. They don’t worry about comparison
This is such a big mindset issue, and one people with a strong mind don’t worry about.
The reason?
They are internally driven rather than externally motivated. They are not worried about comparison or fear of missing out.
One of the foundational elements of my business coaching is to free entrepreneurs up from the mindset blocks they have.
Mentally strong people know their strengths
People with a strong mind are clear on what they’re good at, and spend more time doing just that.
Do any of these thoughts sound familiar?
“I worry that I’m good enough”
“Who am I to share this knowledge”
“I worry that I’ll be letting people down”
You can either worry about what others think and say, or you can have the courage and commitment to follow your dreams and build a business and life you love on your own terms.
Strong-minded people stay on their own path.
One of the biggest regrets in life that people have is that they were not true to themselves. That they lived a life based on someone else’s terms.

Mentally strong people stay on their own path
No matter what you do, people will always have something to say.
When you have a strong mind you’re clear on your goals.
You know what’s best for your business and to move forward without caring what people say.
Measuring up to someone else’s ideal just causes stress anyway. Stay strong-minded and trust in your purpose and your journey.
3. They know they have enough time
“I don;t have enough time” is something I hear multiple times during every single day.
You can always find the time for that matters most to you when you’ve mastered goal setting.
In its simplest terms, we all have the same 24 hours in a day and it’s up to us how we manage time effectively.
People with a strong mind are creators not reactors
Strong-minded people create their day, rather than reacting to it
To progress and grow we have to prioritise and focus, and sometimes it’s as much about saying No to things as saying Yes.
Having a strong mind means we make time for the things that matter most, both personally and professionally.
When it comes to running a business, there are so many things that need to get done. It’s just about being a bit smarter with where we spend our time.
It’s about simplifying the amount of things we do, rather than multiplying tasks to fill the day.
Time is never the issue. It’s where we choose to spend our time that really matters.
Now I’d love to hear from you.
What’s the one thing you do that makes you feel strong-minded, and why does it make you feel that way?
